Movies

We went and saw Batman Begins last night.

I liked it a bunch. Good acting. Pretty sets. everything looked right - sounded right - all the right people were creepy and good.

Christian Bale nailed the bent psyche of Bruce Wayne perfectly.

I recomend it.

On coffee:

I was recently in West Virginia and while there I found what is currently my favorite cup of coffee. The Mountianeer Blend from Seattle Joe's in Morgantown.

A nice light roast with a good flavor that just slides down easy.

So svery good witha bit of sugar and half and half.

More soon.

One day I'll update on time.

So. it's been another month?

I suppose I have been busy. But you don't really need to hear about that. It is what it is.

So. What is new in the world?

Oh right. Deep Throat came out. (not the movie - the Nixon Era informant) So?

Ben Stein had something top say about it. Ben is a little biased. But his perspective is an interesting one.

So why do we care 30 odd years later? Must be the mystery of it. A highly placed government official giving information to reporters and blowing the whistle on the Nixon administration - It just captures the imagination.

Ah well. I'm of two minds on the whole subject.

In other news,

Orson Scott Card once again takes a stand. The only issue I took with his characterizations about the residents of "Smartland" is that they could be almost equally applied to those people he is defending. Maybe not as much or as accurately - but there is a lot of finger pointing on both sides.

I seem to keep coming back to this theme of reconciliation. I wish the two side would remember that tolerance is a virtue. Instead, they seem to be so focused on "winning" (what they think they are winning - I have no idea) that they are willing to destroy American society (and quite possibly the country) in the process.

What is the point if there is nothing left at the end?

More soon.
